Minister announces €4.9 million air service contract for the Aran Islands

According to a statement on Gov.ie, Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys has announced the award of a new €4.9 million air service contract for the Aran Islands (Oileáin Árainn).

The OSP contract, which is now in effect, will run for four years until 2026, according to the statement published on Gov.ie, which also noted that, for the first time, the contract ensures the provision of a direct service from the continent. both in Inis Meáin and Inis Oírr, and that the contract with Galway Aviation Services Limited, trading as Aer Arann Islands, follows extensive consultation with island stakeholders and a comprehensive procurement process , and will provide 68,274 OSP seats to the three Aran Islands each year, with flights operating from Aerfort Chonamara.

Ryanair announces winter schedule for Ireland
