Ministers of Tourism and Civil Aviation discuss mechanisms to revitalize tourism and air traffic: Egypt

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled El-Anany and Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar held an in-depth meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to coordinate mechanisms for revitalizing air and tourist traffic to Egypt with the upcoming launch of the new budget airline Air Sphinx.

The meeting comes within the framework of the follow-up to the implementation of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly’s directives to the two Ministers to stimulate and increase the tourist movement entering Egypt, as well as in the light of the continuous meetings held with the private tourism sector. to listen to their requests.

El-Anany started the meeting by thanking Manar for the continued fruitful cooperation and ongoing coordination between their two ministries to support the Egyptian tourism sector and implement the Egyptian state plan to increase tourism and travel. in Egypt.

He then noted the launch of numerous measures and joint initiatives that will contribute to boosting and increasing the tourist movement, especially in light of the remarkable success and positive results obtained recently by the promotion campaigns in the tourism exporting target markets, and also in light of the increasing demand and participation of tourists from different countries to visit Egypt and enjoy its diverse and unique touristic and archaeological components.

El-Anany also explained that there are several coordination meetings held with Manar and officials from other competent authorities regarding economic flights, which will help increase inbound and internal tourism.

For his part, Manar stressed the importance of the role that Air Sphinx – a subsidiary of EgyptAir – will play in achieving integration with the national airline’s network internally and externally, noting that its flights are expected to begin within a few weeks to increase flights between the various Egyptian tourist cities and archaeological sites, in particular the area of ​​the pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum.

This coincides with the upcoming opening of the Sphinx Airport to boost domestic tourism, encourage day tourism and attract more air and tourist traffic to Egypt at affordable prices that suit different segments of travelers.
