New Delhi, June 02: An official team from India is visiting Kabul to oversee operations for delivering humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. During the visit, the team will meet representatives of international organizations involved in the distribution of humanitarian aid.

Also, the team is expected to visit various places where Indian programs and projects are being implemented.

The Indian team will also meet with senior Taliban officials and discuss India’s humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.

AIR Correspondent reports, To meet the humanitarian needs of Afghanistan, India has decided to extend humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.

Several humanitarian aid shipments including 20,000 metric tons of wheat, 13 tons of medicine, five million doses of COVID vaccine and winter clothes have already been sent to Afghanistan.

These shipments were handed over to the Indira Gandhi Children’s Hospital in Kabul and to several humanitarian organizations. India is shipping more medical aid and food grains to Afghanistan.

India has also donated one million doses of indigenous COVAXIN vaccine to administer the vaccine to Afghan refugees in Iran.

It has also helped UNICEF by providing nearly 60 million doses of polio vaccine and two tons of essential drugs. The humanitarian assistance provided by India has been widely appreciated in Afghan society.
